Elevation |
There's all sorts of stuff going on in the video Elevation.
The song is included on the soundtrack to the action flick Tomb Raider,
so the video incorporates some of the scenes and storyline (I think?) into
the video. To me, though, it's just a big mess. There's something about
the fourth dimension, a key, and Evil U2 vs. Good U2. Edge is "Forrest
Gumped" into the film along with Lara Croft (actress Angelina Jolie) and
actually does a pretty good job of acting against a green screen. Meanwhile
Bono is running around in our world dropping his groceries, Adam steals a
yellow cab only to blow it up later on, and Larry's riding around on his
motorcycle. Evil U2 is the band simply dressed up in black leather. (I've
come to the conclusion there's not much difference between Evil Larry and
Good Larry). Somehow Good Edge gets back from the fourth dimension and
the two bands face off in the middle of the street, generating a lot of
wind. (Or hot air, considering it's Bono. Hee hee. Hey, I love the guy,
you know that.) The fortunate thing is MTV was doing a Making Of The Video
episode around Elevation, so there were a lot of good behind the
scenes shots.
